Hyde Park is built around the University of Chicago: vintage courtyard walk-ups, greystones, lakefront high-rises, and converted coach houses, much of the stock so old the stairs and doorways were built before modern furniture — and definitely before moving trucks. The work splits between two reliable peaks. Every May–June, UChicago student and faculty move-out floods the neighborhood with couches, mattresses, and whole-apartment clears. The rest of the year, it's estate downsizing of long-held homes full of books and furniture. We disassemble what won't fit the old stairwells, carry it out (the carry is in the flat price), photo-quote before we roll, include the disposal, and charge no Illinois sales tax on the service. Usable furniture and books are donated.
